
Africville was a black community settled by former slaves of American and British owners. This settlement began Nova Scotia in the mid-1800's, but was was demolished in the 1960's. It is now a historical site in Canada. Last Days in Africville by Dorothy Perkins is the story of twelve-year-old Selina Palmer and her family who stuggle with the knowledge that their home and community is about to be taken away.
